Lead Software Engineer

Short Description


Triumph Systems & Support in West Hartford CT is looking for an independently motivated candidate to fill a Software Team Lead position. This Engineer would be working in a team environment engaging in full life-cycle development (plan, design, verify, certify) of embedded software for complex control systems certified to RTCA DO-178 (software level A to E) along with their computer based diagnostic tools.


Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:


•Supervising and mentoring multiple direct reports

•Employee skill development and objective/goal setting

•Process Compliance and Continuous Improvement Initiatives

•Fully support the Engineering organization with audits and customer meetings

NPI Project Planning and Execution Responsibilities

•Project planning and oversight and the ability to effectively multi-task

•Support bids and proposals activity including senior leadership presentations

•Conducts and coordinate complex embedded software development and verification tasks.

•Participates in multidisciplinary planning, design, development, testing and certification of complex software based systems.

•Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.


Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR

•Advance degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR

•Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar discipline

•Knowledge of software architectures and the C coding language

•Experience with creating cybersecurity specifications and design documents

•Very knowledgeable of cybersecurity concepts and implementations within embedded systems

•Developing and integrating cybersecurity reporting for program security, risk, compliance against regulatory standards

•Design/develop/implement cybersecurity architectures, key/certificate capabilities, and performance requirements

•Experience with Model Based Development (DO-331)

•Experience in embedded software development and verification, preferably using DO-178 or similar industry standards

•Experience with most aspects of the software life cycle process including planning, decomposition of system requirements to high level software requirements, low level requirements, architecture, code, verification and certification

•Familiar working in lab environments using in circuit emulators / target system debuggers and computer assisted test stands

•Understanding of the software development and verification processes

•Experience working with Generator and/or Bus Power Control

•Experience working in a cross functional team of program, systems, hardware and software engineers

•Experience with MathWorks tools
